Girls should be able to ‘act like girls’ and reach for their dreams

Watch how this ad shows the power of pumping up a girl’s confidence

Girls Playing

Girls can do anything, but many of them face obstacles. That’s why we love this video from Always, which shows how girls have to fight harder to overcome stereotypes.

“Yes, I kick like a girl, and I swim like a girl, and I walk like a girl, and I wake up in the morning like a girl, because I am a girl. And, that’s not something I should be ashamed of,” says one woman in the video.

The girls and women we work with around the world face violence, abuse and exploitation simply because they’re female. Part of changing that paradigm is changing mindsets and giving girls the confidence to believe they can succeed.

Watch the video below (to the end) to see how changing mindsets can start creating real positive change.

About Christian Children’s Fund of Canada:

Christian Children’s Fund of Canada works globally to support children and youth who dream of a better world. For nearly 60 years, we’ve brought together diverse people and partnerships, driven by a common belief: education extends beyond the walls of a classroom and is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world. We focus on breaking barriers preventing access to inclusive, quality education for all, especially girls.
